What YAKAP is
YAKAP — PhilHealth’s Yaman ng Kalusugan Program — launched in July 2025. It marks a shift from reactive hospitalisation coverage toward proactive primary care: every PhilHealth member is enrolled at an accredited YAKAP Clinic that monitors health, prescribes treatment, and arranges medicines before illness escalates.
What GAMOT is, and how it relates
GAMOT stands for Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment. It is YAKAP’s medicine benefit — 75 essential medicines covering the country’s highest-burden chronic and acute conditions, dispensed through accredited GAMOT facilities.
So the two are not alternatives. GAMOT sits inside YAKAP: YAKAP is the programme, GAMOT is the part of it that covers your medicines.

The official PhilHealth source

That page lists four YAKAP benefit categories — Primary Care Checkup, Laboratory, Gamot List, and Cancer Screening Test — and it distinguishes YAKAP Clinic Providers from GAMOT Providers as separate accreditation pathways, which is the distinction this page explains.
