Everything you need to use your YAKAP benefit: who can avail, how to register, what is covered, and how to get your free GAMOT medicines delivered.
Short answer: YAKAP is PhilHealth's primary care benefit. Once you are registered, an accredited YAKAP clinic gives you a yearly check-up, screening, laboratory tests and consultations, and your doctor can prescribe free outpatient medicines under GAMOT, worth up to ₱20,000 a year per member.
YAKAP stands for Yaman ng Kalusugan Program. It is PhilHealth's primary care package that replaced Konsulta. Instead of waiting for you to be hospitalized, it pays an accredited clinic to look after your health for the year: regular check-ups, screening for common conditions, basic laboratory tests and doctor consultations.
All PhilHealth members and their qualified dependents can register. You choose one accredited YAKAP clinic as your primary care provider.
Bring your 12-digit PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN) and a valid government ID.
Your first visit is called the First Patient Encounter. The clinic records your health profile and vital signs, the doctor consults you, and the clinic orders any screening or laboratory tests you need. This is also where your first prescription is usually issued.
GAMOT (Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment) is YAKAP's medicine benefit. Each member can get covered medicines worth up to ₱20,000 a year, at no cost, from a GAMOT-accredited pharmacy. PhilHealth pays the pharmacy directly, so you never handle cash.
The medicines cover the conditions most Filipinos live with: hypertension and heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma and COPD, infections, and pain and fever, plus vitamins and supportive therapy. See every covered medicine TrueMed stocks.
Your prescription is valid for 90 days. You can claim it in parts within that time, except antibiotics, which are dispensed in full. More on the UPSC and the 90-day rule.
These are two different accreditations. A YAKAP clinic registers you, consults you and prescribes. A GAMOT pharmacy, also called a GAMOT botika, validates the prescription and releases the medicine. TrueMed is a GAMOT-accredited pharmacy. Looking for one? See YAKAP and GAMOT accredited pharmacy in Metro Manila.
PhilHealth publishes the program at philhealth.gov.ph/yakap. It lists four YAKAP benefit categories: Primary Care Checkup, Laboratory, Gamot List and Cancer Screening Test, and treats YAKAP clinics and GAMOT providers as separate accreditations.
TrueMed is a private GAMOT-accredited pharmacy, not PhilHealth. We cannot access your PhilHealth account, approve eligibility or process member logins. For enrollment or account questions, contact PhilHealth directly.
